Publish an event

Add a show, sale, or meeting for members to see in the portal.

Open Communication, then Events. This requires Manage communications. The page says Create and publish upcoming society events for your members.

New event starts a record. An empty list says No events yet. It says to add a show, sale, or meeting, and that published events appear for members in the portal.

The columns are Title, Event date, Location, Status, and Updated. Status is Draft, Published, or Archived. Select a row to open the event.

The row menu is Actions for the event title. It includes Edit, Archive on a published event, Restore on an archived event, and Delete. Archive confirms Event archived. Restore confirms Event restored. Delete asks Delete this event? This cannot be undone. and confirms Event deleted.

Event details

Event details has Title, Subtitle, Event URL (optional), Registration deadline (optional), and Description. Title is required.

Location has Location title, Search location, City, State / Province / Region, Postal code, and Country.

Schedule lists the dates the event runs. Add event date adds a date. Add schedule item adds an activity. All day covers the whole date. A timed item needs an end time after the start. Otherwise the message is End time must be after start time.

Hosted by has Host name and Host URL (optional). A host link needs a host name. The message is Add a host name when including a host link.

Price has Free event. The note says it is for display only and members are not charged through the portal. A paid event uses Price (informational). Leaving both empty shows Enter a price or mark the event as free.

Cover image is the image shown with the event.

Save and publish

Save draft saves the event. The confirmation is Event saved. The dialog Publish this event? then offers Keep as draft or Publish to portal. Publishing confirms Event published.

A saved draft also has Publish to portal on the page. A published event has Unpublish, which confirms Event unpublished.
