Configure member application

Share the public application link and design the form people fill out to join.

Last updated 1 day ago

Open Settings, then Application. The public page uses a built-in Membership Application until you publish your own form. Staff can still add a member from People, covered in Add a new member.

Share the link

Application link is the address to send to someone who wants to join.

  • Copy link copies it. The page confirms Application link copied.

  • Open page opens the live form.

Submitted applications appear in To Process → Memberships.

Open the editor

Under Application form, the page shows how many input fields are published and a preview of the live form. Select Customize.

The editor title is Application form editor. The left side is the field list. The right side is Preview. Submit application in the preview is only a sample of the button.

Save draft keeps your work off the public page. Publish replaces the live form. The badge reads Unpublished changes while the draft differs from what is published, and Published when they match. The back link is Application.

Add fields

Select a block to add it. Drag a field to reorder it. Open a field to edit it, and use the remove button to delete it.

Block

What it does

Society Name and Logo

Shows the name and logo from Society details. Choose Show society name, Show society logo, a logo size, and alignment.

Membership Types

The choices the applicant picks. Only one of these blocks is allowed.

Information block

Text that is not an answer. Set Content, then Paragraph, Heading, or Subheading, and alignment.

Text field

A single-line answer.

Multi-line text

A longer answer.

Dropdown

A list of choices. Enter Options (one per line).

E-signature

The applicant types their name.

For an answer field, set Label, Required, and Full width or Half width. Text fields can have a Placeholder. The signature field uses Help text instead. The signature must match the first and last name on the application.

Membership types

The Membership Types block uses the types from Society details → Membership Settings.

  • Label is the question on the form.

  • Required is on by default.

  • Show pricing includes each type’s fee.

  • Types to show is All membership types or Selected types only. Selected types need at least one type checked.

Map answers to the member record

On an answer field, Maps to member data stores that answer on the application. Each mapping can be used once. A mapping already used is marked (in use).

Publish requires these mappings:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email

  • Signature

It also requires one Membership Types block.

Other mappings are optional: Phone, Address line 1, Address line 2, City, Province / state, Zip / postcode, Country, Farm / ranch name, and Website. Choose None when the answer should stay on the application and not fill a member field.
