Send a message
Reply to a member or start a new conversation.

Open Messages in the dashboard sidebar. This requires Manage communications.
The page title is Messages. The list tabs are My inbox, All, and Archived. Each tab shows a count.
Filters includes All open, Created by me, and Archived. Search conversations with Search conversations...
An empty list says No conversations found. Open conversations say Open member messages will appear here. Archived conversations say Archived conversations will appear here.
Start a conversation
Select New message. The list title becomes Members. Search with Search members... Back to inbox returns to the conversations.
Select a member. The panel says Start a conversation and Send a message to begin a thread with this member. The confirmation is Conversation started.
Until a member is selected, the panel says Select a member and Choose a member from the list or start a new message.
Reply
An open thread has Reply and Internal Note.
Reply uses Type your message... The member can see it. Attach file adds images or documents. Send posts the message.
Internal Note uses Add a note visible only to admins… Those notes stay with staff.
An empty thread says Write your first message below.
Contact details opens the member’s details. Hide details closes them.
Close and follow up
Close archives the conversation. The confirmation is Conversation archived. On an archived conversation, Reopen confirms Conversation reopened.
More options includes:
- View member profile
- Email member
- Mark as priority, or Remove priority when it is already marked. The confirmations are Marked as priority. and Removed from priority.
- Convert to customer ticket, or Remove customer ticket. The confirmations are Converted to customer ticket. and Removed customer ticket.
- Snooze · Later today and Snooze · Tomorrow. The confirmation is Conversation snoozed. A snoozed conversation has Unsnooze, which confirms Conversation unsnoozed.
