Set up registration types

Define the registration types staff and members choose when classifying an animal.

Last updated About 7 hours ago

Open Settings, then Record Settings, then Registration Types. Changing these types requires Manage settings.

The Types card says to drag types to set the order they appear in dropdowns. An empty list says No registration types yet. Add types to define how animals are classified in your registry.

Each row shows the type name, its description, the kind, and how many animals use it. A normal type reads Standard · 3 animals. Birth Notified reads System · Birth Notified.

Add or edit a type

Add type opens New registration type. The description says registration types appear when adding or editing animals.

Name is required. The placeholder is e.g. Purebred, Foundation, F1 Cross. Description is an optional note about when to use the type.

Create type confirms Registration type created. A duplicate name shows A registration type with this name already exists. A blank name keeps Create type unavailable. Cancel closes the dialog.

Edit opens Edit registration type. Save type confirms Registration type saved.

Drag a row to a new position. The confirmation is Registration type order updated.

Birth Notified

Birth Notified is a system type on every society. Its starting description is Notify the society of a birth without full registration. No certificate is issued.

Edit says you can update the description, and the name is fixed. Renaming it shows Birth Notified is a system type and cannot be renamed. Delete type is not offered. Deleting it shows Birth Notified is a system type and cannot be deleted.

Delete a type

On any other type, Delete type asks Delete registration type and the type name. The confirmation is Registration type deleted.

A type that animals still use shows Cannot delete that name while that number of animals use it.
