Connect a Stripe account
Create or sign in to a Stripe account, authorize Origin, and finish verification so members can pay.

Open Settings, then Online Payments. The section is Member payment gateway. This connection collects membership dues, registration fees, and other member charges. The organization’s own Origin subscription is billed on a separate Stripe account.
A shorter overview of the gateway choices is in Set up online payments.
Before you connect
Select Stripe — Recommended by Origin. That choice saves immediately. The option lists the card fee 2.9% + 30¢ per card charge.
Use the Stripe account that should receive the organization’s payouts. Origin does not create that account until you continue into Stripe.
Authorize Stripe
Select Connect Stripe account. Origin confirms Redirecting to Stripe… and opens Stripe.
Sign in to Stripe. If the organization does not have a Stripe account yet, create one on that Stripe page.
Authorize Origin to accept payments for this registry.
Stripe sends you back to Origin.
If you decline or the authorization fails, Origin shows Stripe authorization did not complete. Try connecting again. Select Connect Stripe account and authorize again.
When the account can already accept charges, Origin shows Stripe account connected. Finish any remaining setup steps below.
When charges are not ready yet, Origin opens Stripe’s setup before you land back on Online Payments. That setup is where Stripe collects the business, identity, and bank details it still needs. Leaving it early shows Stripe setup was interrupted. Use Complete Stripe setup to continue.
Finish Stripe’s requirements
Back on Online Payments, the Stripe option shows a badge until the account is ready.
Complete Stripe setup confirms Redirecting to Stripe… When you return, Origin shows Stripe setup updated. Refresh status if payments are not active yet.
Stripe requirements names each missing item and marks it:
Stripe asks only for what that account is missing. The names Origin uses include:
Business name, Business category, Business website, Product description, and Support phone
Legal first name, Legal last name, Date of birth, Home address, Phone number, and Email address
Government ID or SSN, SSN (last 4 digits), and Photo ID upload
For a company: Company name, Company tax ID, Company address, Company owners, Company directors, and Company executives
Bank account or Bank account for payouts
Accept Stripe terms of service
Active means members can pay. Payouts to the bank account start after Stripe has that bank account and finishes its review. A missing bank account stays on the requirements list.
Connected Stripe account shows the Account name, Account type, and Email Stripe has on file. Account type is Individual, Business, Nonprofit, or Government entity.
Use the connected account
After the account is linked, Online Payments includes Stripe tools:
On Stripe Account, Open Stripe Dashboard opens Stripe in a new tab when the account is managed there. Origin confirms Opening Stripe Dashboard…
Refresh status checks Stripe again and confirms Stripe connection status updated.
Member payment preferences
These appear after a Stripe account is connected. Card numbers stay with Stripe. Origin keeps only a token. Turning a switch on confirms Member payment preferences updated.
Remember credit cards saves a payment method after a successful checkout.
Allow staff card-on-file charges lets an administrator charge that saved card when approving a registration or transfer.
Disconnect
Disconnect removes the Stripe account from this organization and confirms Member payment gateway disconnected. Member payments return to manual recording. Connect again with Connect Stripe account when you are ready to accept cards.
