Update a non-member

Edit a non-member, set their farm role, or grant portal access.

Last updated 1 day ago

Open People, then Non-Members. The search field is Search by name, email, phone, or address… Press Enter to search. A search with no matches says No non-members match your search.

The columns are Non-Member No, Name, Email, Phone, Location, Farm, Role, Portal, Animals, and Added. Portal is None, Invited, or Active. Select a row to open the contact.

Edit the contact

On the contact dialog, select Edit. Change the name, email, phone, or address, then select Save changes. The confirmation is Non-member contact updated. Cancel leaves the contact as it was.

Grant portal access

Grant portal access gives the person farm-scoped access so they can help with records. It does not make them a society member. The button needs a real email address. Until then, the dialog says Enter a real email before granting portal access.

The dialog title is Grant portal access. Choose an existing farm, then a role: Employee, Family, Manager, or Other. Other needs a label.

Under How they get access:

  • Send invitation email lets them set a password from the invite. The button is Send invitation.
  • Create portal login creates the account with a password you set. Generate fills a password. Email login details includes those details in an email. The button is Create portal login.

The confirmation is Portal access granted.

After access is granted, Edit role on the contact changes the farm role. Save role keeps it.

You can start the same actions from Actions on the list when one non-member is selected: Edit, Grant portal access, and Delete.

Delete a non-member

Delete opens Delete non-member? Confirm with Delete. The confirmation is Non-member contact deleted. Animal records that already name this contact keep that name. The contact leaves the non-member list.

If the person still has portal access, the dialog says Revoke portal access before deleting this non-member. Delete stays unavailable from Actions until that access is removed.
