Configure the Member Portal

Choose what every member can do in the portal, and the banner on the home page.

Open Settings, then Member Portal. These settings apply to every member. In a demo organization the page is visible and cannot be changed.

Select Save settings when you finish. The page confirms Member portal settings saved.

Portal features

The Member portal section turns features on or off.

Setting

When it is on

Search Database

Members can browse animals registered by other members. When it is off, members only see their own animals.

Member Roster

Members can open the full member list. When it is off, that page is hidden.

Member Messaging

Members can message other members. When it is off, they can still message administrators and regional representatives.

Events

Members can browse upcoming events.

Marketplace

Members can browse animals listed for sale.

All five start on.

Database search fields

Database search visible fields appears when Search Database is on. Choose which details members see on other members’ animals. Registration number and name stay visible.

Home page banner

Home page banner is the hero members see when they open the portal.

Headline can be up to 200 characters. Leave it blank to show a default welcome that uses the organization name.

Banner image is a wide picture, about 3:1. Choose a file to upload it. The page confirms Home banner image uploaded. Remove takes the picture off and confirms Home banner image removed. The empty state is No banner image uploaded.

Each button has a label and a link.

  • Primary button label starts as View my animals. Primary button link starts as My animals.

  • Secondary button label starts as Explore society. Secondary button link starts as Members.

Primary links are portal pages: My animals, Register, Forms, Members, Messages, Newsletters, Events, Results, Marketplace, Payments, Flock, Semen Inventory, Embryo Inventory, and Health Records.

The secondary link uses that same list, or Custom URL... and an address such as https://example.com.
