Grant or revoke member portal access
Give a member a portal login, or put that login on hold.

Open the member from People, then select Portal. Portal Status shows where they stand.
The member header shows the same state as No portal access, Invitation pending, Portal access, or Portal on hold.
Grant access
When the status is Disabled or Invitation pending, the Member Portal section offers two ways in.
Invite them
Select Invite.
Confirm the email in Invite to Member Portal.
Select Send invitation.
They receive an email and create their own password. The link lasts 7 days. While an invitation is still pending, Resend Invitation on the member header sends a new link. The full invitation steps are in Invite a new member.
Membership emails must be on under Settings → Society details → Communication.
Create the login yourself
Select Set Up under Set up User Name and Password.
The dialog is Create member portal account.
Confirm the Email.
Enter a Password, or select Generate. The password needs at least 6 characters.
Select Create account.
The next screen is Member portal account ready. It shows Login URL, Email, and Password.
Copy all copies those three details.
Email login details sends them to the member.
Done closes the dialog.
The page confirms Member portal account created. After the email, it confirms Login details sent.
The same two actions are on the member header: Invite to Member Portal, and Create portal account in the member actions menu under Portal access.
Put access on hold
Security is how you stop a member from changing records.
Select Put on hold.
Confirm Put account on hold.
Select Put on hold.
The page confirms Member portal placed on hold. The member stays signed in. The portal is read-only until the hold is removed. Their header shows On hold.
To restore editing:
Select Remove hold.
Confirm Remove portal hold.
Select Remove hold.
The page confirms Member portal hold removed.
Put member on hold and Remove hold are also in the member actions menu under Portal access.
Passwords for an enabled account
When the status is Enabled, the Member Portal section changes to password tools.
Send email under Email reset instructions opens Send password reset email. Confirm with Send email.
Set password under Set a new password opens Reset password. Enter New password and Confirm password, then select Reset password. They can sign in with it immediately.
The member actions menu lists the same tools as Send reset password email and Reset password manually.
